Working in the U.S. Air Force as a C-17 flying crew chief, before every flight, someone walks around the aircraft and checks it, step by step, against a written procedure. Nothing is left to memory. That habit stayed with me through 18 years in aviation maintenance, and I’m an FAA-certificated A&P mechanic.
As an Inspection Section Team Leader, I ran a team that completed 81 scheduled inspections and more than 38,000 maintenance actions, and we kept a 91.4% mission-capable rate, the best in the Air Force’s C-17 fleet. I deployed to Iraq in 2011 and to Kuwait in 2014, where I maintained aircraft that flew more than 1,300 airlift missions. I’ve also served as a regional Habitat for Humanity board member, where I oversaw $2.2 million in assets and helped build housing for homeless veterans.
Along the way I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a graduate certificate in addiction counseling, because I care about the people side of how organizations work. I’ve also worked in homeless services, substance use disorder (SUD) programs, and intensive outpatient (IOP) settings, so I’ve seen firsthand where operations break down and what that costs a small team. Today I work in emergency operations, coordinating aircraft movements, where clear handoffs and written procedures matter every day.
Small behavioral health and addiction clinics do some of the most important work there is, often with lean teams and paper-based systems that depend on a few key people. When one person leaves, the gaps show up fast. Good people end up buried in paperwork and workarounds.
I started Waypoint Health Ops to bring an inspector’s eye to clinic operations. I stay on the operations side. I look at how work moves through your clinic, find where it breaks, and build simple systems that hold up, so the business runs as well as the work your team does.

Inspect first. I look at how work actually happens before suggesting any fix.
Write it down. Good systems don’t live in one person’s head.
No surprises on price. Flat prices and fixed timelines, confirmed in writing.
Plain language. No jargon, no buzzwords.
Operations only. I stay in my lane: the business side of your clinic.
